Working on gathering stuff to start a 110gl brackish tank, and wondering if a protien skimmer would be advantageous to the setup or a waste/overkill. I will be using a sump system. Also anyone know the ratio of seawater to fresh to get 1.005 for f8's and the like. I have access to real seawater and a ro unit. thanks

A skimmer isn't needed on a brackish tank.
Mixing your own saltwater is much better than using real seawater. Real seawater can contain parasites and pollutants. To get the SG level right you will need to invest in a refractometer.
