eheim canister classic 2215

i have the 2217 on my 72, i love thw filter. its very quiet, as long as u submerge the spray bar, u cant hear it. if i were you i would get the 2217 instead of the 2215. overfiltration is better than not enough hence why i got the larger canister. It's larger, more media capacity, more powerful in general. since you are already dropping a decent amount of money, it would be better to just put in the extra 20 or 30 bux.

not knocking the 2215, based on my experience with its bigger brother i would expect nothing less than quality.

I have 2215 on my 29g and I think it's the perfect. I agree with SuBXeRo go with a 2217 or bigger for a 65g.

like everyone else said.. go for the 2217 if thats the only filter that will be on the tank. Or go for 2215 and a cheap fluval 404 from ebay.

If 2217 isn't doable, how about 2215 w/ 2217 impeller? But I'd do 2217 - 2215 is about right for 30-45g (I have one + 1 PH in 46g bow).

I have a 55g with a 2215 and a 205. Both perform nicely, but I like the 2215 more.

The eheim 2215 is rated for up to a 93 gallon tank so cut that in half and theres your tank size. I would personally however just get the 2215 and a cheap HOB for mechanical filtration leave the bio for the 2215 and fill an aqua clear HOB full of sponges that you could wash under tap and wring out every week. This is a good bullet proof method. I would use an aqua clear 70 or 110
