Canister Filter question...

So my LFS which i also work at only has the

Fluval 305
and
Rena Xp2

Which one would be the best on my 55 gallon which i am setting up soon.

The Rena comes with filter media but the Fluval does not they are about the same price..

If you guys recommend the fluval what should i use for filter media?

I've only tried the Rena's and I really like my XP1, so I guess I'm biased.

Personally I have not used either, but the only thing I can really recommend if you do not get the responses you're looking for is to try and see if you can find a product reviews page for the two items. I always find those useful when looking to purchase new things.

I'm very happy with my XP2. Its been running flawlessly on my 55 gallon for 3 years now...

the fluval can pump 206GPH the rna dpes 300 so id do the rena..

I've got the fluval and am happy with it, but I've never had another filter to compare it to.

I'd go with the rena More media options more power!!

what they say and is are two different things....

what is the tank stocked with? i would look into a xp3 or 405 though if it was my tank i would go with xp3.

personally i would go with the XP (probably the XP3 you can never have too much filtration)
