Would two 100w heaters be sufficient for a 75? Either one on either end, or one submersed and one inline with the canister return?

I use 2 heaters in a 90 (same footprint as a 75) both are submersible and as close to the filter intake as I can get them.

the general guide is 3watts per gallon if the room where the tank is is kept warm,5watts per gallon if the room is kept cool-Anne

Ok, so I should take the 100w stealth I have and add a 200w to it, and that should be almost overkill, but keep the tank nice and toasty. We don't keep our house temp up all that high in the winter to conserve oil.

sure

Or

1 250w for a dollar or two more.
and keep the 100w in a fish(stuff) box, for a back-up or the next tank. Whichever comes first.

Or(the "depends" stuff)

do you require a back-up for everything in your tank? ie run two filters, two heaters, etc.

do you want to run two smaller heaters because of the "malfunction" possibility. So the malfunctioning heater doesn't boil your fish, while your away?

Then sure, go with two smaller heaters. ;)
