What is the most desired/rare cichlid of them all??

If you could have one type of cichlid over ALL of the many many different types which one would you choose??

Lake Victoria cichlids are definitely the most in need of captive breeding programs. +100 for Victorians, and Mascarene(from Madagascar) cichlids as well.

    Peacock Cichlids are gorgeous.
I love peaceful aquariums. They're a lot of therapy.

Seriously, though, the max I'd want to try (at least thus far) would be discus. They're great.

"dayglow fulu" or hap. sp. The males are AMAZING! Females not so much but you need them to make the males really pop out. I have a grow-out tank of them that will be moving to a 30 gal pretty soon. Already have a dominent male who looks INCREDIBLE!

    http://www.african-cichlid.com/Dayglow.htm

This has a lot of good info on them. And pics! They're a victorian and need to be in species-specific tanks to illiminate inter-breeding. They are getting more and more rare in the wild and need to be maintained in the fish hobby to keep their speicies going. Very rewarding fish to keep.

    I love 'em!
    MTS Count: (2) 55 Gal, 14 Gal Tall, 10 Gal (+1 hospital & 1 QT)
