Surely the rarest most elusive and in-demand is the Mbuna Poo-eating cichlid... you know, the fish that is supposed to live by cleaning the other fishes poo out your tank.

I would guess the blind white cichlid from the congo river would be the rarest.
Since it lives at such depths it has never been caught alive. It would get the bends and die. I saw it on a National Geographic special Monster Fish of the Congo.

They are not "rare" but my favorites are flowerhorns and blood parrot cichlids. Obviously, I do not dislike hybrids
Our Tanks: • 150g Fancy Goldfish • 75g Blood Parrot Cichlids, Rainbow Cichlids, Buenos Aires Tetras, Cories & BN Plecos • 75g Angelfish, Tiger Barbs, Cories & BN Plecos • 38g Neon Tetras, Black Skirt Tetras, Serpae Tetras & Cories... Overstocked? Possibly. Supremely Filtered, Planted & Diligently Maintained? Absolutely!

For me it's got to be some of the smaller shellies, great color + personality in such a small package. If I had a bigger tank (a 125 would be super), than I'd love to get a nice school of eartheaters.
