Egg Crate Help

People say to use an egg crate if you want to put texas holey rock in your aquarium... why? Do i need it?

egg crate is used to spread the weight of the rocks over a bigger area...some also like it as added protection for the glass..

Some people use egg crates on the very bottom of their tanks, before laying gravel. This prevents a rock from applying pressure to a single point on the glass, which could lead to crack. And because Mbuna cichlids like to dig holes, it will deter the rocks from falling. If you don't want to have your texas holey rocks falling and breaking the glass at the bottom, then it would be a good suggestion....hope that helps some./..:)
