i am having a dispute about my fish. some people are saying that they are not sword tails. if you could go to my album in my profile and check the fish out and try and tell me what they could be if they are not sword tails. Thank You.

Look like six females and one male to me. Lucky chap. Must have been a very good boy in a former life.

+1 the first pic appears to have 1 male but is hard to make out. They do look like sword tails tho.

Females don't have that "extra fin"


Hope that helps a little with IDing M from F? (It helped me, I started off and I kept buying all males! I wondered why they kept dying :()

Indeed. I'd be intrigued to know what they think they are if not swordtails.

Edited to add: on sexing, the bleedin' great sword on the males' tails are also a giveaway with this species ;)
