Yeah, but it would only be a rough idea. These are not all that accurate. Plus, you have to remember to replace them every 6 weeks. A better tester is to get the API Liquid test kit or Red Sea liquid test kit, like these API link and Red Sea link.

I prefer the API kit since you've got your major tests right there already, ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, and pH.

Oh, and yeah, a freshwater kit works just fine for brackish. If you are up in the higher brackish range closer to saltwater, then I'd pick up a saltwater kit. The only real difference is the color that shows up, so you really just need to have the correct color comparison chart with the correct kit for good results and make sure it's not expired. Liquid tests take a long time to expire (some not for years, others more like a year, depends on the particular test), while the ones in the link and the test strips expire quite quickly and add up to big bucks.
