Somewhere in Maryland
i have a new 125 fowlr tank and it has been up for about a week. I took about 45 gallons from my 55 tank that had been running for about a year. well I went a way for the weekend and came back to find this rusty brown color all over my live rocks and the crushed coral in the bottom of the tank. My guess is algae. the light were going on at 730 in the am and going off at 900pm.. what time schedule should i use. the live rock is about a 100 pounds of live rock that is about a year old. what is the rusty color stuff and how do i get rid of it? please help:1zhelp::jaw-dropping:

7:30am to 9pm is a little excessive too.

Should run it from 12 to 9 and the light shouldnt be on for more then 8 hours.. 9 is stretching it

It will go away on its own. Diatoms is part of your tank maturing.
