i have a 55 gal fowlr trying to change to a reef someday. Here is what i have now, and what i have plans to do.
60lbs of live rock over 50% crushed coral, and 50% argo. 2 skimmers a cheap one runs from air bubbler, and a decent sea clone. i have a canister filter by jbl(from e-bay) has built in uv sterilizer. my lights need upgrade, i have a 260 watt coralife pc 48 inch. 3 ac 20 power heads.
ok now what i plan to do. 30 gal sump filled with lr only for natural filter. 36 inch mh light to add to what i already have on it. continue removing phos little by little and green hair algea. then add coral. soft corals.
if anyone knows any tips for saltwater tanks, or advice i am all ears. this has been about 7 months in now, and i have had a few problems. but i stay focused and budget permitting continue to move forward with this,
thanks, JOHN
