Good news is that I will get to go go home next week! It could be early as Monday but I would like discharge on Wed. I will be home for about a week and then return for some closing surgery on my L/leg. I have 2 large areas on lower leg that is still open to the air. The surrounding muscle had to be removed and a bit of surgery to create a muscle had to be tried. The good news is that I can walk and and have full function of foot and leg.
It appears the coma left no permanent harm and different things are returning albeit slowly. One side benefit has ben that 1) I stopped smoking, and 2) I have lost 50lbs. I gotta say, this is no way to diet! I can see putting most of the weight back on later and I look forward to it. I am in a physical rehab center, all of us are recovering from a serious injury or surgery and we each have 1-2 rehab specialists that work with us daily. I would have to say that most of the patients want to be here and want to get back to normal as soon as possible.
