here are my babes. after all my issues. coloration not too good after turning on the light. they show better coloration once the light has been on a while. have some decent growth on some who weren't affected by past issues & some who were affected. I have at least one that is stunted but maybe a couple more. at least they are all healthy right now (fingers crossed) & all eating like pigs, even the smallest one which went thru a tough recovery period in QT. feeding frozen foods helped a lot. not as good as snoops, hope they will grow out.

I am glad they are doing well! They still have lots of growing time. From my understanding they can still grow up until they are about 14 months old.
thks, will be more careful from now on. so far have lived w/o any bottom feeders/cleaners. my AC110 DIY extension tube has been a dramatic improvement in sucking up all that heavier debris/poop at the bare bottom.

so now that I am feeding more frequently & more frozen foods, they are doing much better. so do hope you're right, that they still have more time to grow.

even the stunted one has filled out & noticeably grew just a tiny bit.

so will keep posting. thks again snoops.

Lookin' good! Where's all the diatoms you were complaining about? I do find your background a little distracting from the pretty fish but I like the plant glasses. Do you have trouble with debris in the gravel? I do & it's a PITA to try & syphon.

Two thumbs up!

Just beautiful!! They are the most stunning fish and your tank is wonderful!! I love the plants in the glasses...kinda classy looking, LOL! I hope all your woes are over now and you can just enjoy the beauty of those fish!!
I do have one question though...I notice you have 2 heaters in your tank, a 300w and a 200w. I tried the same thing on my tank but the smaller heater won't even register. How did you do it?

thks all for sticking with me thru my ordeals.

funny you all think these look good - their true nicer colors were not captured, hope to post more this weekend.

as for the diatom or brown algae bloom, I had just did 90% w/c & scrubbed the tank/accessories as well as all the leaves, but it has returned.

also, now I must consider cleaning my filters more often as I have planaria (those pesty white worms). the intermittent partial w/c is not good enough - the major w/c does wonders.

so I think cuz I alternate cleaning my AC110's, the one left untouched develops the planaria & spits them back into the tank.

as for the cosmo glasses - I wanted to have plants but didn't want to deal with gravel substrate & all the debris it collects & then to vac vac vac it thru. cuz, as I have some minimal partial gravel coverage in my angel tank, I can see how much poop is accumulated. so can't deal with that in my discus tank.

so I had these glasses leftover from owning my sushi restaurant & they were just sitting there looking pretty out of water, thought let's try them in water. this way I still get to maintain bare bottom tank. as for cleaning the gravel I don't. hoping what falls in will be fertilizer for the plants. some plants doing good now, but some are not.

thks all again.
