Here are a few pics of some of my inverts. All are caught from local waters. The blue clarkii are the same tone of blue as the day I caught them. They just cleaned up good after moulting.
I get my Clarkii from local crawfishermen. I have four of them that are on the lookout for any blues that they catch and save them for me. The blues don't occur often in the wild. The average fisherman catches about 500 lbs. daily and out of four guys, only ten blues were caught last season. You were right about the feed. They flood the rice fields after harvest by the spring there is plenty algae to eat. I come across some reds that are huge.
