:welcome:
As with the previous versions, this is about helping people stock those oh-so-common 10 gallon tanks.
This is still a PROTO version, not the final version. I still want opinions from people, especially those with lots of experience with the species or aquariums. ALSO, I need some creative folk to suggest cute/fun/creative names for each stock! You can see I have some, but I want YOU to help! Also, if you have ideas for additional stocks, feel welcome to suggest. I want this to be a GROUP project. So, make suggestions, post opinions, look for problems or whatever!
:help:

ive got a couple...

Ghost tank - level 3
6x Kryptopterus minor ghost glass catfish
6x ghost or cherry shrimp OR 4x amano shrimp OR 2x bridgesii or mystery snails
-ghost glass cats are skittish. thus, the tank must be moderately to heavi;y planted. there must be many hiding places as well.

NEEDS NAME - level 2
2x Pterobunocephalus dolichurus ghost banjo catfish
4x male platy
2x mystery snail
-this species of banjp catfish is somewhat difficult to come by... probably needs to be specially-ordered.
- provide the banjo cats with small-ish pieces of bogwood. try using something to break up a large piece, then putting the resulting smaller pieces in the tank, so there are many large slivers and small chunks of wood on the bottom.
or, use a sand substrate.

Thank you for the suggestions!
I do love ghost cats, but unfortunately, they get a little large for a 10 gal. I wouldn't put them in anything smaller than a 20 long.
I cant even find info on Pterobunocephalus dolichurus. Do you have a site with some info on them? Have you had any experience with them?

I would go with a figure 8 fresh water puffer with some plants / drift wood and lots of easily breed snails!
No such thing as a fresh figure 8. They need a SG of 1.005 (brackish) People who keep them in fresh or salt run into an array of problems keeping them.

Go Figure – Level 5
1 figure eight puffer
-Brackish tank
-Puffers require live snails and frozen food

I would consider this one questionable for a 10gal. You would have to keep the water quality up very well but I guess thats why you have it in a level 5. I wouldn't keep them in anything less than a 15gal. I have mine in a 20gal which I think is perfect for a single F8 and a couple Bumble bee gobies.

Thats my opinion though.

I'm bad at making combos so I'll suggest some of my favorites. Rams. Blue, German, Bolivian. They are all great. They may pose the same problem as the puffer though if you want a pair, but if the tank is well planted you can do it.

And question. Why are you not suggesting Male/female mixes. Most of the combos you have with live bearers of the same species specify all male. I think thats half the fun of fish keeping. Especialy for beginners.

there are some male/female mixes, but not with the livebearers, because they produce fry too fast.
