HOB filter converted to refugium?

Hello all!
I do not have a SW tank but want a tiny one for hawaiin shrimp so am doing my research. I read in the general section where someone suggested converting an HOB filter into a refugium for a small tank.
So I scoured this DIY section and couldn't find anything.
I want to turn an extra 2.5g I have, that is currently FW, into SW and use the small nano HOB filter for the tiny refugium.
Can someone tell me how to do this?

There's a few places online that have how-to's, although I'm surprised there isn't something here already.

Im sick of keeping my cheto in my tank.

im actually gonna build this one too! im gonna put live rock, sand, cheto into it that way i can get a nice little amount of copepod farm going on!
