What is the growth rate of a BN pleco? I have had one for (I think) around a year now, and its probably not yet even 3" long. I feed it a good variety of food, try to give her vegetables as often as possible, etc etc.

But, I have hardly noticed any increase in size since I bought her. Are they just slow growers?

Thanks.

They are slow growers, IME it takes about 8-9 months for fry to reach breeding size (about 2/3 their full potential size.) Size also varies among individual fish. I have 2 brown female adults the same age, one is quite noticeably larger than the other one.

they are slow growers but if you want them to grow faster you need realy realy good water quality
it triggeres something in there body telling them that there in deeper water and that they need to get bigger (or so ive heard frome some guy this one time)
