ok i am going to be purchasing an RO unit in the coming months and id like to find out which one i should buy. i have found a few options i just want to know which one would be the best option.

Go for the 4 stage system. It is all that is necessary in the vast majority of situations (unless you can confirm your water supplier uses chloramine) and it saves a good bit of money. I have a 6 stage unit and I only use 1 carbon block--the other is empty. The main difference is that I have 2 DI canisters, which I feel is more important.

i just looked on the website for the city of tampa water and it says they add chlorine and ammonia to the water which produces monochloramine so i might want to go with a 5 stage RO unit

Factor in the the consatnt supply versus having a small reserve tank only changing membranes every couple of years and the cost of the replacement membranes? I looked at long term cost of at least 5 years and these cost less.

yea but im not planning on living at home with mommy for the next 5 years lol. i also dont need a huge supply of water at most ill only have 4 salt tanks 1 24g, 46g, 5g and MAYBE a 75g now if when i get my own place i might look into a unit like that but until then ill do just fine with one of these smaller ones
