ive had a pair of upside down cats for about a year now and ive noticed that they started to turn white every time i seen them so i thought there color was permanently but one day when they were spooked i noticed that they changed back to their darker brown color
is that normal for upside down cats to change colors??

Have you checked your water parameters? There could be an issue that maybe causing stress and/or mood changes.

I've had the same upside down cat fish for over 3 years now and he does the same thing all the time and my water chemistry is fine. I think its just something these fish do.
