Cinder blocks & 2x4 wood. I use them for my 55G & my 130G tanks. They work great, you can paint them & customize the hieght easily. It's also very cheap. Only cost me $11 for my 130G stand.
4ft only needs cinder blocks on the ends.
6ft needs ends and in the middle.
8ft would need ends and 2 middle ones.
Evenly spaced of course

I am from UK, can I still get them from shops here?

Also, I'm going to be moving into a ground floor flat, the floor will be able to support it because it will be evenly spread across the floor?

Ground floor, so concrete? Concrete should be fine. But regular floors would be able to hold up to 75g or so with out too much worry.
I believe cinder/concrete blocks are sold in any country, so you should be able to find them in a large hardware store. I would say that if you stack the blocks, ei want to make it taller, you should put a full length wood board between all blocks, not just a 2x4. That way they all put pressure on the board and hold it more steady.

180 or 240g is a LOT of weight.
180 full is 2100 lbs.
240 full is 2950 lbs or so.
Regular floor would have to be braced very well to support that.

This is my 130G tank and DIY stand.

How much foot is that tank in the picture?

I'm positive it will be concrete but could just be regular joists.

Because the weight would be spread across the floor it would be alright anyways wouldn't it?
