Besides Hygrophilia what are some fast growing plants
or plants that use up nutrients(choke out algae)

Tank only has 1.73 per gal lighting
Tropical Sunset is growing plenty good
Myrio Filia is growing pretty good
Dwarf sag was growing thin but more Iron was added and it seems to do better
Crypts are growing very well, In fact they are doing better than the swords....
I would rather have a tank with just crypts
But it looks like I am going to either need more crypts to choke out the algae or get some nice fast growing plants....

Any suggestions???/

Crypts are good.
You can add some floatinbg plants at first if you want to choke algae, remove them as needed when you add Crypts. Also, add as many plants from the start as you can. Water sprite is good.

This will help.
Also adding peat and mulm(the "dirt" from another established tank) will help get the tank started up from the gound level.

Hornwart

Hornwart is the ultimate break in plant for a planted aquarium. Float it at first so that it gets lots of light then once it starts threatening to shade out the other plants you can sink it in an open area.

With good light, a ball of hornwart will double in size weekly.

This tank has been up for about two months.
I am leaning more to getting more crypts since i like their look and there are different species for the different parts of the tank

I dont have CO2 but I do add Flourishes Excel

If I add another Light 2x65,that would give me 3.5 watts per gal
Being that high,,,,I would need a CO2 setup...correct????

Another question I have is , I have a 2215 eheim on this tank. What are the benefits for adding another 2215 to the filtration???

thanks
