I started my tank build a little over a week ago I guess and here is what's going on. Essentially, it's a plywood tank with an exterior frame. The frame will be 2x4s and will measure 96Lx36Dx30H outside with the inside measuring 88Lx28.5Dx28.5H. The stand is made of 2x4s and 2x6s. I will be sealing the tank with Perma-Dri's Pond Coat. The viewing window will be 5/8" plate glass. I wil also be building a 100G sump under the tank that will also be plywood sealed with Pond Coat. Here are pictures of the stand...

On to the tank. The tank like I said is plywood with an exterior frame. There are 2 over flows that will feed a sump from each end. Here is where we are with the tank construction....

Are you going to use Pond Coat to seal it?

Now the sump. The sump will be fed from both ends with the pump in the center of the pump. Water will enter the ends, pass through filter socks, go through an opened area that will house assorted filter medias and heaters. From there the water will rise and then fall through a filter plate onto a bed of scrubbies. Water will be pumped back into the tank using a Quiet One 9000. I am also going to plump the pump with PVC that will extend under the scrubbies. Here are the plans and the progress!

Undecided right now. I want something where I am going to have to worring about aggressive and non aggressive and I dont want something that is going to require a special diet or is going to grow to large. I have been through all of that before and am not interested in doing it again. It's too bad there are no fish out there that stay in the 3"-4" range and eat flakes and pellet and dont beat the snot out of eachother if the male/female mix isnt right.

Yes, I have read a lot of good things about Pond Coat so that is what I have decided to use. I am going to have to wait for the weather to warm up before it can be shipped. I might have a dealer about 2 hours from me. If it is in stock, I may drive and pick it up.
