As the days grow longer and the beachfront temperature approaches the magic 70 degree mark, the fishing is turning on. Due to the closure of so many bait camps and boat ramps following Hurricane Ike the fishing pressure in the bay system was uncharacteristically light last year. This has resulted in some very nice trout being caught. I look forward to a great fishing season this year. I started by respooling my reels after thorough cleaning and lube. If I can find one for a reasonable price, I'm gonna invest in a 12' ride on fishing kayak... a real handy investment for the flats, marshes and canals where the large sow trout hang out.
