Hi all,

I have two pair of german blue rams that seem to be on break from laying eggs. They laid like clock work for awhile - every 10 days or so but haven't laid a batch of eggs in several weeks. Do they take time off or do I need to do something to put them in the mood? I am wondering if it is the food. I used to feed them white worms, blood worms and flake. I almost lost my white worm culture so I have not been able to feed them any of them lately. Is live food a necessity to encourage breeding? I have only been able to raise one batch of fry successfully so far and I am anxious to try some different things with the next batch. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Thanks,

Hey Ian,

Thanks for the link - I agree with most of what was said but he makes the raising fry part WAY too easy. I have raised thousands of angels over the last 4 years (thousands) with out any problems but I have only been able to get one batch of the GBR fry so far - they are not easy to get to the bbs stage. They are too small for bbs and that is the problem. If they were able to eat baby brine shrimp first I would have hundreds of them right now. They are a challenge and that is why I am finding them sooooo much fun. I have 50 or so in a 75 right now and they are the coolest little school of fish I have ever seen.

Here is another great link I found on them also:

Got your PM, I'll contact you later,
