I don't know too much about sponges, but my one-year old tank all of a sudden is going through a huge sponge growth spurt. Lots of bright neon greens, but now I'm starting to see spots of purple sponges.
It's been growing steadily over the past two weeks. Is this a precursor to something, or is that just a normal stage that tanks go through?
Since they're growing quite steadily....should I be concerned if they take over my rocks? Or will they only get so big?
If you guys are curious to know what they are looking like, let me know and I can snap a few photos, but I would assume everyone knows what a sponge looks like....
I haven't changed a thing....not even the amount of water that I change weekly.
