WeedCali's side job is to keep my thread on it's toes.
Much obliged, sir - really!
WELCOME to the JUNGLE, baby! You gonna die (it's SO greeeen)! *cue wailing & heavy drums*

That sword has gone NUTS! Some of the older leaf tips are dying, but the new stuff is healthy... methinks I need to move it out soon.
Latte is rocking out with the band!
And my baby Gus making a new friend!
Yeah... there will be a For Sale thread going up soon - mostly for tiger vals.

It's not the Dread Pirate Algae! It's just surface scum/stuff that I need to scrape off. The right side is the worst - I can't get my hand in at the right angle.

On my 2.5g, I left the crud alone - and all of a sudden it was gone! Completely clear glass. It was amazing (but it's coming back).

Your Vals look so healthy, I like that junglely look

Some of my smaller Vals look like they're getting see through, maybe it's the flourish. What kind of ferts do you use?6 Bolivian Rams, 5 baby Geophagus St., 9 Black Phantom Tetra's, 3 Blue Gourami, 4 Synodontis Petricola
Love my fishies they're magical

Glad you updated this thread! Your 10 looks nice, very jungle-like indeed

I personally wouldn't mind seeing more Gus updates, such a cutie!

Thanks! I may have used some root tabs LONG ago (like when I first got them from WeedCali, or even before that), but I have not added anything. I do notice some of the leaves get slightly transparent, and I also see my dwarf sag in the 20H get like that... but they're still growing so I'm okay with that. Are you dosing Excel? Vals are sensitive to it.
Aw, thanks - I feel a bit guilty putting up cat pics on a fish forum... I take a ton of pics, I'll try to add at least one with every update.
Well, I have a TON of light (too much) over them, and my water's pretty warm (which I'm guessing may speed growth? Or I'm just making stuff up again)...
I'm pretty excited about the mystery aponogetons you sent me... the tiniest one went into my 5g and disappeared, but the other two went into the 10g. I can't be 100% sure (since they're all squashed in there) but I think both bloomed! I had 2 flowers in 2 weeks...
I opened the door to feed the fishes and whoah! (Yes, it had been a couple days.)
And then just a few days ago:
Last night:
Today:
Taken during discovery of first flower - hard to see the leaves.
This one taken I think a couple days ago (during feeding - what a mess!). Pardon the yucky glass - I can't get in there to scrape! You can see the two types of leaf shape better - one is the short oval leaves, one is the more tapered & very slightly ruffled leaf.
(really embarrassing, I don't know how the outside glass got so dirty!)
Gus is overflowing with appreciation at all the kind comments!
