Yep, I'm copying Jspigs... who copied it from Bocomo... imitation IS the sincerest form of flattery! :p:

Here's my baby "V". It stands for Valentine, but sometimes it's Vicious. He will not tolerate any other critter in his tank. So although he loved roaming my 10 gallon, he must now be satisfied with a 2.5 gallon tank. I put the tank in the open where he will get stimulation from people walking around, and maybe my kitty roaming the living room when we're not home.

Just moved/rescaped tonight. I like how the sand+gravel turned out. The gravel made it much easier to plant the anubias nana and bolbitis without making things messy. A little crazy glue and some bigger bits of gravel helped with the bolbitis. :D

The black marbling only appeared within the last three weeks. Before that, his whole body was pink/flesh tone and he only had a little bit of black on his tail. I've gotten used to the marbling, and like how it brings out his scales! His black eyes and lip liner are my faves.

Aaand... from the 10 gallon... it's Cirq du Snail!

More to come! Thanks so much for looking!

Okay, a little more!

These were labeled as "feeder shrimp", 10 for $1.
3-19-10dump 038.jpg

I kinda guessed that they're wild-type cherries. Some (probably females) got quite colorful (in a brownish sort of way)
3-19-10dump 039.jpg

Unfortunately all shrimp are gone. V killed some, and I just lost the last one the other day.

My Celestial Pearl Danios! I have yet to find anyone selling females...
3-19-10dump 047.jpg

Taken tonight... they're so hard to get pics of. Very shy, they get braver when the room is dark and their light is on... (and one of my Endler boys!)

My Clown Killifish... he used to stick to the surface, but now he roams all over. I think he's developed romantic feelings for one or both of my Endler girls.

Habrosus Corydoras! I have 5 (lost one right after purchase), with hopes to get a few more. I <3 these guys.

Fish Central. V's place is in the burbs. The 5 gallon is still cycling, and will be for the 2 Endler boys and Clown Killi (to give my girls some space). That tank's been my first stab at a higher-maintenance planted tank. I kinda like my stemmy glosso. :p

The Endler's are impossible to get clear pics of... maybe next time! Thanks for visiting!!

5 gallon Visio sorta cube

I got this at first for my betta, and had it set up to grow some dwarf sag emersed. But then I decided to try some "serious" nano aquascaping. I picked up a Zoomed 501 mini canister filter, some Aquasoil:Amazonia and some rock from my favorite lfs. My rocks weren't very big, so I just sort of nestled them into the AS, without burying too much.

1st day filled - planted with dwarf sag, one little crypt willisii, glosso up front, and rotala macranda in the back. Man, that glosso was so hard to plant with my normal little tweezers!

The water got super cloudy the 2nd day - but I've heard this happens with AS.

Two days later, water has cleared up.
03-30-10 glosso.jpg

Day 5... some growth! The AS leeches ammonia, so this helped my cycle and also helped make my plants happy.
04-01-10.jpg

Day 10... more growth! I'm very happy my rotala macranda is growing, as I've read it can be a hard plant to grow. And yes, my glosso is very leggy - I actually like it! Eventually I will pick up shrimp and I think they'll love the mini forest. Let's just see if the glosso will spread!
04-05-10.jpg

Today, the 13th day, I have zero ammonia... not sure if my nitrites are starting or ending... hopefully not much longer for the cycle! This will be home for the clown killi and male endler's.

Thanks for looking! :D

You have some really nice tanks and fish. "V" is a beautiful color; you don't see that color very often.

I have Celestial Pearl Danios with Endlers as well. :)

Should I be suing for royalties on the name?

I like the nanoscape. My tank at work is currently empty and I've been thinking doing a nanoscape with least killi's and cherries or crystal red shrimp. I thinking of some babies tears as a foreground plant but I'm not sure what I should use in back. It's a 3gal hex that is only about 8 inches tall. It's got a pretty large footprint given the size.
