sorry don't have clear pics, anyone know what this is/

it's white, with circular rim with what looks like little white dashed lines about 1/32" in a basket like shape (or like how chocolates come in those waxy paper like brown cups with the ridges like russell stovers), they are not arms or tentacle like cuz the white dashes are within the basket.

but the core is clear about 1/4" in diameter stuck to rock, can't see any head or point, retracts when scared.

hard for me to describe but hope someone may be familiar with this.

and is it a good thing or not...

from another post I gather I have a feather duster, but is this ok or harmful. but just checked tonite & its gone. is it mobile? how fast does it multiply?

If it is in fact one of the small feather dusters that appear on rocks, they are small filter feeders and are harmless to the tank. Yes, they will reproduce in the proper conditions, I see new ones pop up from time to time in my tank.
