I have an opportunity to pick up two blue throat triggers and would like an opinion on whether of not I’ll have any issue with other tank mates. I have two yellow tangs, one hippo, one long nose yellow butterfly, one starry blenny, two clowns, and one coral beauty angel. Everything I’ve read said that this shouldn’t be a problem, but I want to hear it from the horse’s mouth. Thanks.

Fin, thanks for the reply. I picked up this pair tonight and just finished introducing them into the tank (I know, I didn’t QT them….my bad, but I know the owner of these beauties and felt comfy throwing them into the DT without QT). It is late and the only lights on are the blue LED’s. As expected, they immediately went into the rocks and are hiding. I am so happy with this purchase….what beautify fish…and a deal I could not refuse. I do have a boy and a girl blue throat. I’m happy! Great additions to the tank.

The only things you'll need to worry about are possibly your shrimp if you have or want any. The whole genus Xanthicthys are very peaceful with other fish, and are even considered reef safe. But they will eat shrimp, particuarly smaller ones.
