my trip to the U.P... the Macinaw bridge is 5 miles long and from Macinaw City to the Island is exactly 7.5 miles.....the governors mansion, the fort...I cant remember what the hole in the rock is called...:goldfish:

Did you go to the butterfly house? It's really cool. We also rented a couple bikes and rode around the island.

No we didn't get a chance...It is hard for my mom to walk...So we just took the carriage tour...Last time we were there tho, we did go into the butterfly house...very beautiful butterflies tho...

Though pronounced Macinaw it's correct spelling is Mackinac.

Yeah, they saythat Macinac (pronounced Macinaw) Island was from the Native Americans and Macinaw City (Fort Michilimacinac) was from the french....that is what I was told on the carriage tour...
