I'm starting a brand new 75g setup within the next couple of weeks--upgrading from 55g. I'm trying to do it "better" this time which has made me wonder about the timing of my powerheads. I have heard of people turning them off at night to imitate the ocean--I'm honestly not even sure if currents in the ocean are calmer at night, let alone if this is beneficial to the fish. Does anybody have any suggestions on whether to leave them on all the time or if I should turn some/all off at night?

If you lower the flow at night you stand the of a pH swing and reduced gas exchange which can be a problem. I would say if you consider lowering the flow do so in the lower portion of the tank and leave plenty of flow up top so that the water surface remains agitated.

Okay, I'll just leave them on all the time. Thanks!
