I just replaced pool sand with Eco. Looking forward in working with this substrate.

Curious with this, do you need to use CO2 with this substrate? I have DIY running on all the 10s currently. Just trying to figure out if I should continue with it on this tank or not.

Thx

If your plants were happy without CO2 before they'll be happy with Eco now. It mostly helps "hold" nutrients after the intial mineral etc "goodness" wears off.

I currently run CO2 on all my tanks. I thought I saw where this substrate you didn't need to use it. But that may have been a different substrate.

co2 needs is independent of substrate. the co2 helps the plants keep doing it.
:eek:mg: i never knew... :grinno:

james; neither substrates supply co2 so it shouldn't make a difference between the 2.

ECO is a great substrate. I have it in my 29 and my 10. However, it isn't great enough that it replaces the addition of CO2. I have yet to hear of a substrate that replaces the addition of CO2 to tanks.

Simply put, add CO2 and the plants will thank you for it. That is what I do with both of my tanks with ECO in them.
