24" light suggestions?

My old fixture has bit the dust so I am on the lookout for a new light. The tank is moderately planted (crypts, anubias, windelov java fern and some amazon swords which have never really done well).

What are some affordable suggestions? :huh:

36g corner bow. I've had the swords for almost two years under 1.8wpg, they did ok but never gained the size I have seen. I'm not sure I'll keep them around anyway.

take cost of bulbs and shipping etc to see if the lesser expensive units are a better deal than a unit that might be $30 more?

And those are HO bulbs so.... it might cause you some problems down the road if you are not on co2. Brighter light = algae problems.

Yea THOSE bulbs are going to need changing

• 1x 24" T5 Dual fixture
• 1x 24W T5 12000K lamp (Free Item)
• 1x 24W T5 Actinic lamp (Free Item)

I would suggest replacing with 10K

Another option is to check out the T5HO lighting at your local hydroponics shop. Sun Blaze and Helios are two common hydro shop options.

Giesemann Midday 6000K and Aquaflora T5HO bulbs are popular, but they aren't cheap ($20 and $22).
