plants 36 watt 25g

I have a 25 gallon tank that is the same footprint as a 20h. I'm going to do my first plaanted tank for SA Apist. Have no idea what plants to buy. Anyway my light is a 36 watt power compact and I need to replace the the bulb which is 6500k what I normally use. Should that be suffecient The power strip came from Hellolights. Any suggestion on easy to keep plants. Thanks
