I've had new planted tank up for 4 or 5 months now and could use some help identifying some plants that that have been poping up on on a piece of driftwood I have in the tank. The piece of driftwood is rather tall and they are only appearing on top where there is a lot of light. I have 84w on a 29 gal. I have tried to remove them but they keep coming back and I really need to dig to get them off. At this point they are all about the size of a dime. See pic.

is that store bought wood, or did you personally harvest it? I have no clue, but if it keeps appearing then it sounds like some sort of algae.

The wood was store bought and oven baked. I believe it is African driftwood.
