So i just received a wonderful plant package bad news is that a snow storm hit colorado with single digit temperatures so when the plants arrived they were iced.

my question is can they be saved? What can i do? should i float them in my high tech planted tank?

You could try, but when this happened to me a couple winters ago the melted plants ended up just being mush. Smelly, rotten much.

Probably not. Same thing happened to me with them getting melted in summer.

Plants themselves can stand freezing/burning but not trimmings, sorry

(Unless it's something unstoppable like duckweed, then I would think if you see the slightest bit of green it should grow back from that)

you could float them and see if they make it. with out seeing its hard to say.

i just filled up a bucket of water and put the plants in last night. They are still green today. how long should i wait before i can tell if they will obviously die or if they'll make it?

Not sure...mine looked fine but when I touched them they most definitely were mushy and smelled horrendous.

well they aren't mushy and don't really smell nasty yet but it's only been about 15 hours since they've been in a 5 gallon bucket that i filled up.

I guess i'll just put a light desk lamp over them for a few days and see if they make it or not. I think that's about all i can do.

if you can handle them and they aren't falling apart and mushy then i'd just plant them. It sounds like they will be okay.
