Just got my first jungle val today! Its was at a good price (free!) So I couldn't turn it down. What's the right way to trim it, and when do I trim it? Thanks for any help

Much advice on subject here. Along with note that some varieties of this can grow 6 feet high. You don't say how big it is now, or how big the tank it's going in, but you might want to get started on the trimming business pronto.

Vals are very hardy IME. I always just trim as I see fit to get the desired height.

I didn't know if there was a certain way to cut the leaf or how to maintain it

Just take a leaf that's too long and cut laterally with scissors.

Yup. In a 10 gallon,your going to need to do it pretty often.

I like to trim the ends at an angle so it gives it more of a natural look.
