i have a hagan glo 24' 24 w or 25 w t5 ho single light. would this be more light than a 48' 40w dubble shop light? it looks like the light intensity is better than the shop light, but the watts per gal. do not make the equlvalit of the shop light. also are the lumins and lux more intense so that the watts do not matter???this is a 40g breeder.

Forget everything you've heard about watts per gallon.

Now, T5HO's are MUCH better at getting the light through the water and down to the substrate. That light is most likely going to keep you in the medium light range. A 48" shop light would be at least the same, if not less effective lighting for the tank. Plus you'd have a 6" overhang on either side.
