Hi I am new to the aquarium life, I have a tank with african cichlids. One of them my Auratus the bright yellow one has not eaten in 4 days and stays isolated from the rest of them, and is taking alot of water through the gills like gasping for air. Any ideas what is wrong? The one that has almost turned blue and lost most of it's stripes is growing and doing fine. No problems with the rest of the fish.
Thanks, Brent

I went to the store where I bought the fish and the lady told me that the fish might have a mouth full of eggs and that's why she is not eating, does this sound right by my description?

Unfortunately background doesnt help to determine if its buccal cavity is extended somewhat. If bottom of her mouth (buccal cavity) is extended down than normal (compare with male), she may be holding.

Hope it is and Good Luck!
