Can a green terror live with a blue acara?

I purchased two that were supposed to be male/female pair to go into a species tank.

What I got was a blue acara and a green terror. Can they live together when mature? They are 3-4 inches now. If no, what are some good tankmates for them when separate? I dont want them going into a tank all alone.

It can work but it might not. Depends on the cichlids themselves. But in general I would say it might end bad for the Acara since there more mild mannered then the GT which in alot of cases can live up to its name. You can try it and see what happens. But a big factor in all this is what size tank are they in since a bigger tank will help with aggression issues where as a small tank is just an accident waiting to happen.
