My friend gave me a couple of his discus fry. The breeding parents are a bright yellow with some crazy blue patterns through their fins. The fry are all white. When I got them I started feeding them krill, brine shrimp and beef heart as opposed to the all beef heart diet he had them on. They have developed a little bit of the blue on their fins. Anyway, do discus always look like the parents? Or are there other factors that can determine color pattern? We heard that the more colorful a fish will be, the longer it will take for the color to develop. Is this true?
