Hi there,

I recently read that some species of corys are more salt-tolerant than others. I was possibly thinking of adding a couple of Corys to a tank with approx 2% marine salt in there...

Any ideas? Please dont shoot me down as a fish-killer...it's just an idea :)

Hi there,

It will be 1.003. I currently have a similar set-up in a smaller tank with anableps anableps, mollies and guppies. I was wondering what 'freshwater' fish would be OK at this salinity. From what I read there could be quite a few fish that would be...
The aim was to have any type of cory or if possible plec...though I'm sure it'd have to be a specilised type?

No cory species is likely to tolerate salinity higher than 1.002.

Thanks Chris, I suspected this, but after all this forum has a wealth of knowledge and it was worth checking :)

I think it'd be more sensible to dedicate the tank to traditional brackish species rather than 'fitting in' others..
