HELP!! Cichlid looks sick!!

so i've recently purchased a juvenile black convict, and ive started to notice that some white substances have been growing on its body. it almost looks like slime, but at the same time it looks almost spore-y. its engulfing a lot of its body, and im afraid its going to spread to my other cichlids. here is a photo of what it looks like right now. please help me!!

From your description I'm gathering that your black convict got Ich and as a result got a secondary infection which is the white fungus growth your seeing on your poor fish. If your fish looks what appear to resemble salt grains on him then it is ich. Treat the Ich with a salt and temp treatment or with Ich meds. Also a anti-fungal should be added like pimafix.

The white stuff is fungus I cant tell what the "spore-y" stuff your refering to. The picture has to much of a haze to make anything like that out. Look up Ich. See if that's what your fish has.

Not enough of clear pics/vid to be sure, imo. Could be fungus but I am thinking extra slime production due to irritants such as parasites or exposure to poor/unideal water condition???

What are water parameters?
