I have a ten gallon tank with swordtail fry that were just born. Nothing else is in the tank. I will be going away in about two weeks for one week. I have a sponge filter in it. Can I put a feeder cube or will the pieces be to big. I have no one to feed them any suggestions. Thanks for your help:help:

An auto feeder with very small flakes.

Well, you could try (no promises) putting a ton of algae or some other tiny plant in there. My molly fry never got food from me, never stopped them from growing up. But I'm no expert in fry keeping, so don't trust me unless someone else agrees.

Most Livebearers eat at least some algae, Mollies are among the best at it. It would probably keep them from starving. I'd be a bit reluctant to trust an auto feeder dispensing the small amounts of food needed.

The Tetra Vacation wafers are some of the best vacation food out there...no chalky white stuff.

You could also use nori (roasted seaweed used for making sushi) found at the ethnic foods section of a major grocery store (or Oriental market, of course). I weigh strips down with plastic clothespins. When they rust, just toss them :)

Another option would be egg white, I have one of those plastic microwave egg poacher things, I feed my shrimp egg white and sometimes drop a little in each tank if I'm leaving for a weekend.
