could I keep a few corals, some large shrimp, a Fu Manchu lionfish, and a frogfish in a 30-36 gallon tank? I am definetly getting a Fu Manchu. Thanks, Mudskipper10
36G would be minimum I would recommend for a Fu Manchu. I would not do a 30G for that fish. Shrimp are out of the question with lions and frogfish. Corals are ok though. Those fish are predators, they eat other fish and shrimp, but don't touch corals.
Yes, they will eat pom-pom crabs, emerald crabs, basically any invert that doesn't have a shell to hide in like a hermit, even then they will still try and eat hermits and will succeed occasionally.
Forgot to answer the coral question.. my suggestion, go with some pom-pom xenia and green star polyps for movement, and go with a large variety of zoas and ricordea mushrooms. There are endless color combinations and it would look really cool having a tank covered will just those corals. If you put LEDs over those corals they will glow like crazy, minus the xenia.
