In my asian river tank I want a scavenger, similar to that of a Emerald Crab, Hermit crab of saltwater something to clean driftwood of algae and other particles. Do you think one small one would cause massive destruction? i would feed him and there is also alot of algae and moss to eat in the tank.

My stocking list
1xFalse siamese Algae Eater
6xGold Barbs
1xBrilliant Rasbora
3xWhite Clouds
3xtylomenias Large
1xbaby Tylomenia
2xSuper Baby Tylomenia
3xOrnate Loach
3xStiphodon Gobys

Its a 29gallon with lots of filtration and high current. There is alot of driftwood and rocks for hiding places.

RCC's can be pretty aggressive towards basically anything in the tank. The more heavily stocked the tank is the more mean theyll become. Your tank is stocked pretty heavily for my taste so i dont know how one would do in there. I used to have one in my old 90g and it would attack a 10" Pleco if it came near his rock, and this was in a lightly stocked tank and he got fed plenty. They also need dry land or atleast fresh air in some way. You can either lower the water line a little bit and make a little island for him to climb on, or you can turn a bowl upside down and put it in the water so that air stays trapped in it. If you do it that you then you need to use some rocks or driftwood to keep it off the bottom of the tank so that the crab is able to get into it. I would use a clear bowl if i were you because they have a habit of killing things and dragging them to their layers to eat, and if you cant see in the bowl then you wont know why your fish are disappearing lol

Its hard to explain the bowl thing so ill try to find a write up on it. Personally, i wouldnt put one in your tank just because its heavily stocked already and has some bottom dwellers that it probably wont get along with.

edit: I love youtube lol :thm:

Thanks for the responce im not going to get one due to thier agression and land and salinity requirments. The tank is already stocked heavily but has great filtration.
