I added the "2.0" because although based on the walstead method I adjusted the setup, to suit my requirements. In short, changing my substrate to organic dirt has completely transformed my tank. The planted growth has been relentless. And I can say with confidence that I have thrown away more aquatic greenery in the last two months than I've actually gown in the last year/18 months. An example of a weekly prune during a wc...

The benefits of dirt as opposed to a normal gravel or an expensive planted substrate is like comparing night and day.

Below is a vid which includes the adjustments I've made and pressurized C02 setup amongst other things. I'm including the link instead of embedding the vid because I can't get the aspect ratio or 720p to show up on ac. And this should only be watched in 720p!

Apistogramma Borellii

As some of you know I had trouble finding these in late summer of 2010. I found Ap cacs everywhere but held out for a Borellii because to me, it seemed like the cacs were the go to Ap species and I wanted my tank to be a little different.

Last month my Ap Borellii did the deed and it was the most beautiful thing to watch and I learned a ton through watching them, specifically about the courtship process. For instance while researching I found no mention of the male blowing streams of water onto the females stomach and in fact, I wasn't even aware that this was what the male was doing until I saw the visual effect of the "stream blowing" while they were courting over some moss. Again, watch this in 720p
