Hi guys,

Well, my discus are looking as if they have flukes or something like that. They are fairly small @ 3ish". I have 5 of them in my 72G. MY sig is really incorrect, I took out the angels except for 3, and I have no green neons. I did 50% WC yesterday. I need to know what meds to use. Please help. I am really scared. I bought these 1.5 weeks ago. They were perfectly healthy till this morning. It seems like they are trying to scratch those white stringy things off on my DW, and my fake coral (rough, sharp). Please Help!
They are breathing at the top, hardly eating, etc. I need help!!!!!:help:

I am so scared for my fish:(:(

Thanks, I don't know exactly what it is yet, I am waiting for the experienced members to help me on this as they prob. have experience and know what to do. Thanks

I have raised the temp to 88 and I am adding salt(I am pretty sure this will help if it is a parasite). I am buying a 30G-55G tank for them today or tomorrow on CL, and will transfer them into that.

I am not adding salt because I have yoyo loaches. I do have maracyn, but the expiry date was 02/2011, so should I use that even though it is expired. I am going to my LFS as soon as I can get a different tank as I don't want to transfer the flukes to my other fish/shrimp. I already found a 30G on CL I can get for $50 with light and filter and heater.

looks to me like Columnaris. Caused by a gram negative Bacteria. How do their eyes look?
What other symptoms are they having?
Are the other fish affected, or just the discus?

Also you say you raised the temp to 88F.
What is the normal temperature of this tank, as these small discus should be kept in water nearly that worm always.

My dad thinks more than 55% WC will kill fish, so I can only do a 50% max. I did one yesterday. I will do another one today. Getting tank soon.

If it is columnaris, it is a bacterial infection.
Caused by bacteria in the water.

Not an expert, but IMO thats what it looks like.
LEts see what other opinions are before you treat that tank with anything just yet.
