I'm planning out a Discus tank (for likely far into the future) and wanted to place some sort of pleco in it rather then cories. Would a gold nugget pleco be a good choice? My other thought was some variety of the Hypancistrus. But both have their cons. I kinda wanted to be able to breed the pleco too just for the interest of it. But that is apparently impossible with the gold nugget and difficult with the zebra type pleco. Does anyone have any thoughts that could resolve my dilemma?

At the moment I'm leaning toward the zebra so I could breed them in a separate tank. But then I would need a room full of tanks. One to breed discus, one too quarantine and one to breed zebras. I don't know if I have that kinda space! xD But it would certainly be fun.

Ooo I like em. And they don't need a high flow of water like the zebras. Thanks.

Bristlenose will work. I kept them with my discus for years... water temp was usually around 84F

L201 as noted, or perhaps L204 as well. I'm partial to L333 too. :)

Almost any hypancistrus pleco would do fine at Discus temps - L046, L400, L333, L450 to name a few.
