DOes anyone know of any online reading material that'll help me along, or get me started in the care of teh plants/water etc?
I'm not sure what to do besides, planting them. lol... I want to have a good idea before I go buy anything....
Anyone?

Some good reading at these locations:
http://www.csd.net/~cgadd/aqua/articles.htm
http://www.thekrib.com/Plants/
And some great aquascaping ideas here:

Bon Apetite! Plenty to feast on in those areas!

Try buying some fish magazines at the local LFS such as the annual Aquarium USA Magazines (covering Salt and Freshwater) and the Aquarium Fish Magazine (I think that's the name) that comes out every month or two.
Also try books from Takashi Amano, or his site at www.vectrapoint.com which has a lot of interesting information on nature aquariums, some great pictures, and a lot of good beginner ideas!"Frodo wouldn't have gotten far without Sam." :: bawls :: So touching!
Sorry I know it's a Aquarium forum, but I just love LOTR too much! Two Towers rocks!

Another site with useful info is aquabotanic's library: http://www.aquabotanic.com/aquamenu.htm
Some of the info you find on the web is a bit dated, especially the ideas about heating coils, some articles on PMDD, phosphates as the cause of algae, etc. Take it all with a grain of salt for a while while you research. For instance there have been a million theories on how to fight algae. I think that the ideas Tom Barr has on the matter are very well informed and seem to make the most sense. He posts on many plant related forums including this one, on the APD, and elsewhere.
I would also recommend subscribing to the APD:
http://www.actwin.com/fish/aquatic-plants
Much of what is on thekrib.com about planted tanks came from discussions on that list. Many very knowledgable folks are on that list and interesting topics come up fairly often. If you do not want to subscribe and get more email, I would recommend you at least look at the archives, and do searches on topics you wonder about, as there is a lot of useful info there.
